Child & Adolescent Injury Surveillance System (CAISS)

Another collaborative project regarding public health issues is the Child and Adult Injury Surveillance System (CAISS)

RAA is reporting coded pediatric injury response data to a central database, where it is merged with hospital treatment data in an effort to identify community trends and intervention possibilities.

In conjunction with the October Center for the Prevention of Child Violence at VCU's Medical College of Virginia, this innovative pilot program may serve as a model for future efforts in the prevention of pediatric injuries.
