ARRIVE Registry
RAA is one of four primary sites for data collection within the ARRIVE Registry, a study designed to evaluate the impact of prehospital administration of IV amiodarone to cardiac arrest victims whose ventricular fibrillation did not response to initial electrical defibrillation. In total, fifteen EMS systems will participate as primary or secondary sites in this study.
The Authority was the first EMS system in the country to give amiodarone as part of its regular medical protocols for emergency treatment, and our Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Ornato, continues to lead EMS services into the cutting edge of aggressive cardiac arrest prehospital treatment.
