Our Communications Center utilizes the TriTech CAD software VisiCAD Command for our dispatching system. Our Emergency Medical Priority Dispatching protocols are provided by ProQA on the v12.2 standard. The Communication Center is operated on a system of flexible deployment referred to as System Status Management. The call volume data (by hour-of-day, day-of-week) is analyzed to determine the best placement of available unit deployment. Basically, we try to place the ambulances in a position where the likelihood of emergencies will occur.
Our Center is comprised of eight consoles each with the capability to dispatch or receive ambulance requests. A flexible staffing system is utilized in the Communications Center with as many as five dispatchers at some hours, to only two when the call volume is slow.
