Today, Richmond has one of the most advanced EMS systems in the United States despite being one of the busiest EMS systems, per capita, in the nation. RAA responds to over 50,000 calls annually and its response times are among the fastest in the nation.
Our response times remain among the fastest in the nation. RAA ambulances are on the scene of life-threatening emergency calls in less than 8 minutes, 59 seconds 90 percent of the time, despite being one of the busiest EMS systems, per capita, in the country.
